    A permit is not required to hold a garage sale, nor to display signs advertising a garage sale. However, please note the following Village regulations:

    No more than three garage sales per year are permitted at a residential property.

    A property may not participate in more than five multi-home garage sales per year.

    Garage sale directional signs, not exceeding six square feet in surface area per face and not exceeding four feet in overall height, may be placed within the public right-of-way under the following conditions:

    (a) Signs may be in place on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.

    (b) Signs must be free-standing, not attached to any utility pole or structure nor any traffic control sign.

    (c) No attention-attracting devices such as pennants, streamers, balloons, inflatable shapes, banners, flashing lights or other illumination are permitted to be attached to a garage sale sign or placed in the public right-of-way.

    (d) No more than four signs for each garage sale may be placed in the public right-of-way.

    (e) No sign greater than 30 inches in height is permitted to be placed within any portion of the 25-foot sight triangle at a street intersection.

    (f) No more than one sign directing the public in any one direction is permitted to be placed at any intersection. EXCEPTION: No sign may be placed at any of the four corners at Gary Avenue and Lies Road.

    Signs found to be in violation of the regulations will be removed and stored in the dumpster area at the Village Hall prior to disposal.
