Household hazardous waste should not be placed out for regular trash pickup.
  

These materials should be disposed of properly to protect the environment.


Permanent Site - The City of Naperville has a permanent household hazardous drop off facility at Fire Station #4 located at 1971 Brookdale Road. The facility is open Saturdays and Sundays, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., excluding holidays. For directions, call Naperville Public Works at (630) 420-4190, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7 am - 4 pm. Acceptable wastes include:

▪ Household cleaners, drain openers
▪ Paints (oil based only)
▪ Mineral spirits, strippers, solvents
▪ Insecticides, herbicides
▪ Flammables, automotive fluids
▪ Fluorescent fixtures
▪ Household batteries
▪ Unknown hazardous substances
▪ Prescription medication

Mobile Collection Events – The Illinois EPA partners with county and municipal governments to host several 1-day spring and fall mobile household hazardous waste collection events on Saturdays.
