SPECIAL OPERATIONS UNIT
Special
Operations Unit (SOU) is currently comprised of one Sergeant, seven
Patrol Officers and one Community Service Technician. One of
the officers serve as a School Resource Officer (SRO) at Glenbard
North High School and the other officer serves as School Resource
Officer (SRO) at Jay Stream Jr. High School. This Unit is
responsible for coordinating both the Drug Abuse Resistance
Education (D.A.R.E.)
and the Gang Resistance Education and Training (G.R.E.A.T.)
programs. Teen and
Adult Citizens Police Academies are conducted and attended by
both teens and adults.
The Unit also provides a tactical patrol service.
