WASTEWATER DIVISION

Demolition work has been completed at the Water Reclamation Center. Construction of the walking path is slated to begin this spring.

The Wastewater Division is responsible for overseeing the operation (by an outside contractor ) of the Village's Water Reclamation Center, which is capable of processing 6.5 MGD (million gallons of wastewater daily).  The WRC operates under a permit issued by the Illinois and United States Environmental Protection Agencies. The treatment of municipal wastewater is regulated by the Clean Water Act and the National Industrial Pretreatment provisions.

The Wastewater Division is also responsible for inspection, maintenance and repair of 96 miles of sanitary sewers, lift stations, wet wells, and over 2,400 manholes, and also for overseeing the Village's Industrial Pretreatment Program.
