The Village
purchases Lake Michigan water from the DuPage County Water
Commission (DWC) who in turn, purchases the water from the
City of Chicago. The City of Chicago recently increased the
price it sells the water to the DWC by $.20/1,000. On October
1, 2008, the DWC will pass that cost increase on to the
Village, and at that time, the Village will be increasing the
rate.
Sewer Rate Increase
A sewer rate increase of $.11/1,000 gallons
is needed to fund the waste treatment operation. The
combination of moderate cost increases in the operation
combined with a reduction in usage has resulted in this needed
increase.
