For Residents (Consumers)
‘Shopping Local’ has a tremendous impact on the local economy and in Carol Stream, sales tax revenues comprise more than 37% ($7.56 Million) of the Village’s General Operating Funds.
These annual revenues help pay for road maintenance, capital improvements as well as important local services such as police and public safety. National consumer research estimates that for every $100 spent locally, approximately $68 gets returned to the community through employment wages, sales taxes and other expenditures that stimulate a local economy. A Shop Carol Stream program gives our residents an opportunity to put their hard-earned money back into their community, and in so doing, enjoy the service enhancements that result from buying goods and services from local businesses.

For Businesses (Partners)
A Shop Carol Stream program provides your business a unique opportunity to connect with prospective local consumers, build customer loyalty, and in the process help strengthen the local economy. If you are a business interested in becoming a Shop Carol Stream ‘Business Partner’, your company, in exchange will be highlighted on the ‘Shop Carol Stream’ web portal and receive a window cling for your interior store front window. Program businesses that sign on as a ‘Coupon Contributor’ by providing discounts to local consumers will, in addition, be spotlighted as a ‘Business Partner of the Month’ on the program web portal and be listed in various Village electronic and written publications promoting the program.
To sign up as Program Partner or Coupon Contributor, send an e-mail to the program coordinator, Christopher Oakley. For questions about the program, contact the program coordinator at (630) 871-6250.
