Village code requires Carol Stream residents and businesses who own, lease or use a vehicle, truck or motorcycle for which a license plate is issued to display a Village-issued vehicle sticker annually. 

Within 30 days of moving into the Village or purchasing a vehicle, local vehicle owners must display a current valid vehicle sticker on the vehicle's lower right windshield. The Village will honor a new resident's or business' vehicle sticker from their former community through its expiration.

Between May 1st and June 30th of each year, the Village mails vehicle renewal applications for all vehicles which hold current village stickers. These must be completed and mailed back or processed in person at the Village Hall, local currency exchanges or participating banks. Vehicle stickers are valid from July 1st through June 30th of the following year. Important: failure to receive a license renewal application does not exclude late applicants from late fees or associated fines.

Residents and businesses who fail to purchase and display a vehicle sticker for their vehicle(s) by midnight on June 30th or within 30 days of move-in or purchase, will be subject to late fees and citations.
