    Village of Carol Stream

    Police Officer Recruitment

    Eligibility Requirements:

    The Village of Carol Stream will be testing for the position of entry-level Police Officer on Saturday, February 24, 2018. To be considered for employment, candidates must meet the following basic requirements:

    • US Citizenship
    • Must be at least 21 years of age and less than 35 years of age as of April 12, 2018 (Date of Posting Final List)
    • High School Degree or Equivalent
    • Uncorrected vision of 20/100 in each eye, correctable to 20/20 with good color vision (For applicants with corrected vision of 20/20 both eyes together with soft contact lenses, there is no minimum uncorrected visual acuity requirement)
    • Must be of good moral character
    • $10 non-refundable processing fee payable to “Village of Carol Stream” due upon submittal of applications

    Note: Following the written examination process, the eligibility list will be good for two years.  As vacancies occur, the next eligible candidate will complete a polygraph with background investigation, oral interview, physical agility test, psychological & medical examinations. Candidates may be disqualified at any of these stages.

    Testing Process:

    A Mandatory orientation/written examination will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018 beginning at 9:00am. Late arrivals will not be permitted. Applicants must provide a photo ID to participate. The location of the examination as well as a study guide will be provided upon receipt and approval of application and fee.

    For those who receive a score of 70% or above on the written examination, a mandatory oral board interview will be scheduled for the week of March 12th. This interview will be scheduled by random draw only. The oral board interview score will account for 20% of the overall list eligibility score.

    To qualify for the eligibility list, the overall passing score will be 75%.

    Flood Brothers Disposal Cowill collect Christmas trees, wreaths and boughs free of charge during the first two collection weeks into the New Year: Jan. 2nd - 12th. Homeowners are required to first remove lights, ornaments, garland, hooks, ribbons or nails from the tree before placing it out at your curb. 

     

    Collection of holiday greenery the third week of January or after, will be billed as a bulk pick-up charge on your next invoice.

    The Village has begun planning the 2018 Summer Concert Series and we are looking forward to another successful season. Stay tuned for updates on entertainment and food vendors.
