INVESTIGATIONS UNIT
The Investigations
Unit is comprised of 
one Sergeant, three Detectives, one temporary duty assignment
detective, one BATTLE Investigator, one Investigative Aid, one Evidence Custodian and one
secretary. The
Investigations Unit provides support to the Patrol Division. The
sworn and civilian members work together as a team to provide
investigative and support services to patrol, investigations and
administration. Members of the Investigations Unit receive
additional training so they can perform their duties.
Investigative personnel are available on call any time of the
day or night.
The responsibilities of the
Investigations Unit include criminal case investigation, victim
follow up, sex offender registration, evidence/property
management and employee background investigations. The
investigator assigned to BATTLE assists with the investigation
and recovery of stolen vehicles from various parts of the
country.

CAROL STREAM FIRE INVESTIGATION UNIT
The Carol Stream Fire Investigation Unit
is a special unit that includes
members of both the Carol Stream Police
Department and the Carol
Stream Fire Department. All members are specially trained in
both fire prevention and investigation. The members of the group
investigate fires in order to determine the proper cause and
