Carol Stream Police Department Policy 

It is the policy of the Carol Stream Police Department to limit its members to only exercise the authority granted to them by law. While this department recognizes the power of peace officers to make arrests and take other enforcement action, officers are encouraged to use sound discretion in the enforcement of the law. This department does not tolerate abuse of law enforcement authority.

Carol Stream Police Department Drone Program

The Carol Stream Police Department recently launched an innovative Drone Program to enhance operational efficiency and improve public safety. Drones, or Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS), significantly enhance situational awareness, allowing for quicker and more effective responses to incidents and events. As a key element of the program, the department has established a comprehensive policy that adheres to the Illinois "Drones as First Responders Act," aligns with industry best practices, and complies with all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations.
