TW Metals, a leading global distributor of specialty Metals has an excellent opportunity for a Warehouse Worker at our Carol Stream, IL facility. This is a regular full time position, working 40 hours per week. Must be able to work off shifts.

SUMMARY: Receives, stores, and distributes material and products within establishments by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Reads work order, or shipping order to determine materials to be pulled, processed and shipped to fill orders.
  • Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, or product.
  • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
  • Marks materials with identifying information.
  • Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Drives Fork Lift Truck to transport stored items within warehouse.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Experience in metals industry helpful.

  • LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, speak and write in the English language. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.

  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • COMPUTER SKILLS: Ability to work effectively with common PC programs such as spreadsheets (Excel) and word processing (Word). Ability to learn mainframe program (Metalware).

  • OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Ability to learn how to operate forklift / side loader and cutting equipment. Ability to read a tape measure, micrometer, or other measuring device.

  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, use tools and controls, and reach with hands and arms. The position requires standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, talking and hearing.

    The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    While performing the duties, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions, and is occasionally exposed to vibration.
