Historical Spotlights

Post Date:05/30/2018 3:48 PM

The State of Illinois will be celebrating its Bicentennial on December 3, 2018 and the Village of Carol Stream will be celebrating our 60th Anniversary on January 5, 2019. In honor of these community milestones, we are taking a look back into our past with a Historical Spotlight at the second Board Meeting each month.

Below is our first Historical Spotlight of the year featuring Carole Ellermeir of the Carol Stream Historical Society.

For our second Historical Spotlight we welcomed Jackie Jeffery and Brenda Gramann from the Park District to explain its history.

Our third Historical Spotlight discusses the Carol Stream Library, presented by Nadia Sheikh.

Our fourth Historical Spotlight shares the history of the Carol Stream Fire Protection District, presented by Gary Rasmussen.

For our fifth Historical Spotlight we had a presentation from Michelle Podkowa with the DuPage Historical Museum.

Our sixth Historical Spotlight included information on the Friends of Pioneer Cemeteries.

In our 7th Historical Spotlight we learn about Carol Stream, and our town came to bear her name.

Our eighth Historical Spotlight features Klein Creek Farm.

Carole with the Historical Society tells about our founder, Jay Stream.
