Door to door follow up is underway for those that have not answered the 9 question 2020 Census.

• Census Takers are not solicitors. Their constitutionally mandated follow up does not need solicitor badges and they are not subject to “No Solicitor” signs.
• They will follow up between 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., up to six times to gain a Census response.
• Census Takers will have a Census Bureau badge, tote, and electronic device. If residents would like to confirm a Census Representative Identity they can call: 1-800-865-6384
• Census Takers will also leave reminder notices on resident doors.
• To avoid in person follow up, residents can do their 9 question Census online at www.my2020census.gov.
• All people living in the household should be counted, including babies, elderly relatives, and roommates that will not be counted elsewhere.

Responding to the 2020 Census serves as the basis for fair political representation and distribution of government and non-profit funding. Each person counted is estimated to provide $1,500 of funding to our community. In 2015, Census data were used to distribute more than $675 billion in federal funds to states and local communities for health, education, housing, and infrastructure programs.
