Winter Storm Update 1/12/24

Post Date:01/12/2024 9:58 AM

Winter Storm Update - 1/12/24 8:37 a.m.

Public Works crews started clearing snow at 4:00 a.m. Clearing a normal snow plow route to ensure safe passage typically takes anywhere from 6-8 hours, depending on the severity of the snowfall. With over 200 lane miles of streets, 300 cul-de-sacs, and 10,000 households in Carol Stream, snow and ice removal is a large undertaking and requires an efficient response by our Public Works Department.

For frequently asked questions regarding how the Village handles snow and ice, please visit the Village's Snow & Ice webpage.

Flood Brothers has suspended waste and recycling collection. If your waste or recycling has not been collected, please remove your containers from the curb so that our Public Works crews can continue plowing and place your containers back on the curb tonight or tomorrow morning. Flood Brothers will resume service when the severe weather subsides. For any questions, please contact Flood Brothers at (630)-261-0400.

The Village is aware that some households have been experiencing power issues, and ComEd is actively working to resolve these issues.

There are multiple ways to report a power outage:

Stay safe, and please only travel if necessary. #WeatherCommandCS
