Refuse & Recycling Service Updates: Yard Waste & Garbage Totes
Spring is here, and with it comes yard waste collection and service updates for Carol Stream residents.
Yard Waste Collection Begins April 7
Flood Brothers will provide FREE yard waste pickup from April 7–13—no sticker required. Beginning April 14, regular yard waste collection resumes, and a yard waste sticker will be required.
Residents can place yard waste in 32-gallon cans or yard waste paper bags with a yard waste sticker attached, with a weight limit of 50 pounds. Collection takes place on the same day as garbage and recycling pickup. Yard waste stickers will be available for purchase starting April 1 at Village Hall, Jewel-Osco, Caputo’s, and Meijer.
Garbage Tote Updates
For regular garbage pickup, Flood Brothers will be delivering free 95-gallon garbage totes to residents who do not currently have one. Watch for notifications regarding your delivery date. As of January 2025, residents are no longer being charged a monthly rental fee for garbage totes.
A friendly reminder: A well-maintained yard helps keep property values up and our community looking great. Please ensure yard waste is disposed of properly and in accordance with Village code.
