Warming Centers Available During Cold Weather

With dangerously cold temperatures expected, warming centers are available to anyone who needs warm shelter, including individuals experiencing homelessness or without heat. The Village is also conducting outreach to unsheltered individuals to connect them with resources and shelter.

DAYTIME WARMING CENTERS IN CAROL STREAM:

(Hours subject to change; call ahead to confirm)

• Outreach Carol Stream – 345 South President, Carol Stream

OVERNIGHT WARMING CENTERS:

• DuPage PADS Warming Center – 703 W. Liberty Street, Wheaton
Open nightly, including holidays: 4:00 p.m.–8:00 a.m.

• City of Aurora Temporary Overnight Warming Center – Financial Empowerment Center, 712 S. River Street, Aurora
Hours: 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m. when activated by temperature thresholds.

Cold Weather Support for our Community:

During extreme cold, the Carol Stream Police Department and Social Services Unit, along with partner agencies, conduct proactive outreach within the Village to check on individuals exposed to the elements, provide assistance as appropriate, and share information about available resources.

If you see someone who may need assistance during severe weather, please contact the appropriate resource:
📞Call 9-1-1 for immediate danger or during overnight hours
📞Call the Carol Stream Social Services Unit at 630-871-6280 during daytime hours to report a concern about an unsheltered individual who may need to be checked on
