On Friday, January 23, 2026, the Carol Stream Police Department hosted its annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner. The Village of Carol Stream thanks our Volunteers in Police Service (V.I.P.S.) for their dedication and community service. Since 1998, this team has grown from six to nearly 100 volunteers playing a vital role in supporting departmental operations, helping officers keep Carol Stream safe, connected, and strong.
In 2025 alone, V.I.P.S. contributed 3,389 hours. That’s the equivalent of $117,000 in services—a symbolic figure representing the value of their time and the impact they have on our community, helping taxpayers by performing work that supports public safety initiatives.
V.I.P.S. serve through:
• Weekly police fleet equipment checks
• Search and Rescue
• Roadside Safety Checks
• July 4th Parade & Fireworks
• D.A.R.E. Graduation
• Christmas Share
• Citizen Police Academy
• Police rapid response role-playing
• Officer training (vehicle stops & prisoner searches)
• National Night Out
• Special Olympics
• Holiday Tree Lighting
• Thursday night concerts
…and so much more.
Community involvement, trust, and willingness to serve define our Carol Stream Police Department. These volunteers serve as the bridge between the department and the residents they proudly protect.
Thank you, V.I.P.S., for serving our community!
