Prescribed Burns Anticipated – March 8
Weather permitting, the Village of Carol Stream plans to conduct prescribed burns at several locations in the coming days as part of the Village’s environmental maintenance program.
Scheduled areas: Venture East, Venture West, Tubeway, Town Center North, Town Center Basin, Shenandoah North, Shenandoah South, and Munson Basin.
Residents in nearby neighborhoods may notice smoke during burn operations. Wind direction and weather conditions are carefully evaluated to help minimize impacts.
Prescribed burns help control invasive vegetation, promote native plant growth, and support healthy prairie and wetland ecosystems. Burning activities will continue throughout the spring. Impacted residents receive mailed notices, and local Police and Fire Departments are notified prior to each burn.
