Village of Carol Stream Public Works crews continue storm response and cleanup efforts following the severe storms on Monday, July 27. The most heavily impacted area is bounded by Morton Road, Gary Avenue, North Avenue, and Lies Road. Crews are making their way through the Village, removing storm debris from public property.

Representatives from the National Weather Service continue to evaluate the storm damage in Carol Stream. Based on their assessment to date, the Village experienced straight-line winds estimated at approximately 70 mph, which caused significant damage throughout portions of the community.

Tree Debris Pickup

Due to the extent of the damage, the Village will provide one final village-wide tree debris pickup beginning Monday, August 3.

Please place tree limbs and branches at the curb or parkway by 7:00 a.m. on Monday, August 3, and do not mix in yard waste or other materials. Crews will make a single pass through the Village over several days. If possible, keep debris away from mailboxes, fire hydrants, utility poles, and parked vehicles to allow crews safe access.
