National Wellness Month

Post Date:08/12/2026 12:07 PM

August is National Wellness Month, a time to focus on healthy habits that support both physical and mental well-being. The Carol Stream Police Department’s Social Services Unit reminds our community that small steps—from self-care and stress management to movement, sleep, and healthy boundaries—can have a meaningful impact on overall health.

Small changes can be a great place to start. Try drinking more water, taking a 15-minute walk each day, improving your sleep routine, or making time to recharge. Self-care can also include taking a break from social media, spending time alone, celebrating your accomplishments, or finding other activities that help you manage stress.

Supporting your mental health is just as important. Consider practicing meditation, creating healthy boundaries, and reaching out for support when you need it.

Take some time this month to consider what changes could make a positive difference in your daily routine. For additional resources or support, contact the Carol Stream Police Department’s Social Services Unit at 630-871-6280.
