August is National Water Quality Month, a reminder of the important role clean, safe water plays in our everyday lives and the health of our community. As part of the Village’s participation in the Illinois Water Ambassador Program, we’re highlighting the importance of protecting our water supply and infrastructure.

We can all help protect our water resources through simple actions:

• Properly dispose of household chemicals.
• Keep litter, leaves, and debris out of storm drains.
• Use fertilizers and pesticides sparingly.
• Fix household leaks promptly.

Small actions can make a difference. Residents are also encouraged to learn more about how we use water, the challenges facing our water resources, and ways we can help protect this valuable resource for generations to come.
