The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is offering federal disaster loan assistance to homeowners, renters, businesses, and certain nonprofit organizations impacted by the severe storms and tornadoes that affected the area July 27.
DuPage County is included in the federal disaster declaration, making low-interest SBA disaster loans available to eligible applicants for losses not fully covered by insurance.
This assistance applies to losses from the July 27 storms and is separate from the SBA disaster loan assistance previously announced for the July 2–4 storms.
Loan Application deadlines for July 27 storm-related losses:
• Physical property damage: October 19, 2026
• Economic injury: May 18, 2027
SBA disaster loan assistance also remains available for eligible losses related to the July 2–4 storms, with a physical property damage application deadline of October 5, 2026.
