Mosquito Spraying- June 10, 2019

Post Date:06/10/2019 11:24 AM

With May being the wettest on record and temperatures on the rise, the Village anticipates that the start of mosquito season will see above-average broods of floodwater mosquitoes hatching in the coming weeks. The Village’s mosquito abatement contractor, Clarke Mosquito, has over 250 mosquito traps in the greater Chicagoland area that are constantly monitored to track population levels and disease activity.

In response to recent results, an adult mosquito control application will occur throughout the Village tonight (Monday, June 10) between dusk and dawn, weather conditions permitting. This will be the first application of the season.

Residents interested in receiving automated notifications prior to future adult mosquito control applications can register for Clarke's "prior notification list" by calling the mosquito hotline at (800) 942-2555 or visiting their new online Resident Hotline. Residents can also use the online hotline to report standing water and high mosquito nuisance levels to address problematic mosquito-breeding sites.
