Parkway Tree Trimming
Parkway tree trimming is scheduled to begin, weather permitting, the week of January 13, and will take several weeks to complete. The work will be completed by a tree trimming contractor, Ciosek Tree Service, and will take place in Work Zone 6, roughly bounded by Kuhn Road, North Avenue, Gary Avenue and Chippewa Trail (see the map below).
Parkway trees will be trimmed in accordance with International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) guidelines for the purpose of removing existing or potential obstructions for pedestrians and vehicles, removing dead, dying and diseased branches, and using various other trimming techniques designed to enhance the health and appearance of the trees.
All work will be performed under the supervision of an ISA certified arborist employed by the contractor, and be subject to inspection by a Public Works Department certified arborist. The Village maintains a parkway tree trimming program on a six-year cycle for the more than 8,000 trees in the Village’s inventory. All debris from the trimming program will be removed by the contractor. If you have any questions regarding this program, please contact the Public Works Department at 630-871-6260.
