The Patrol Division consists of two Platoons, A and B, which patrol the village 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Each platoon has two sergeants, two corporals, zone and backup officers and civilian community service technicians. The Patrol Division is responsible for emergency and non-emergency responses, non-enforcement community outreach, problem solving and self-initiated activity that contributes towards increasing safety and reducing crime.
The village is divided into five zones with an officer from each platoon, night and day, assigned to each zone.
Through ongoing training and education, the Patrol Division is committed to protecting the lives, the rights and the property of the public.
Many patrol supervisors and officers hold additional responsibilities to teach skills to law enforcement or provide specialized services to the community including:
- Child safety seat installation
- Evidence technician services
- Defensive tactics
- Range training
- Rapid response training
- Advanced DUI enforcement
- Custodial searches
