The Citizens Police Academy is an 10-week program, offered once a year and is designed to present an overview of law enforcement and the job of a police officer.

The classes are held on Thursday evenings from 6:30 PM until 9 PM at the Village Hall 500 N. Gary Avenue in the lower-level Daniel Stafiej Training Room.

Topics include crime scene investigation, juvenile laws, gang and drug enforcement, accident investigation, DUI enforcement, traffic stops, SWAT, community policing and other relative topics.
