🎄 Holiday Tree Lighting Extravaganza

Location: Ross Ferraro Town Center (960 N. Gary Avenue, Carol Stream)
Admission: FREE!

Celebrate the start of the holiday season at Carol Stream’s annual Tree Lighting Extravaganza. Hosted by the Village of Carol Stream, the Carol Stream Park District, and the Carol Stream Public Library, this cherished community tradition brings neighbors and friends together for a festive evening.

Enjoy seasonal entertainment, family-friendly activities, and a special visit from Santa as we gather in the heart of the community for the official tree lighting. Bundle up, bring your holiday cheer, and join us for this bright and joyful celebration.

Please note: The event will be held earlier than in past years. Mark your calendar for Friday, November 20, and plan to celebrate with us.

🎅 2025 EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

The evening was filled with community spirit, holiday cheer, and a few playful Grinch shenanigans! 

When the Grinch tried to sabotage Santa’s arrival at the Carol Stream Tree Lighting, the Village’s Public Works team saved the day—delivering Santa in a festively decorated snowplow. Watch the Santa-and-Grinch video that premiered on the event Jumbotron, and thank you to Village staff, the Police and Fire Departments, Carol Stream Public Library, and Carol Stream Park District for helping bring this creative moment to life.

Our thanks to the West Chicago Community High School Choir for their beautiful carols, the Rotary Club of Carol Stream for sharing the joy of reading, and the Carol Stream Public Library and Park District for helping plan a memorable event.

A very special thank you to Owen Lopez, a 12-year-old Carol Stream resident and proud Make-A-Wish recipient, who helped us light the Village tree. Alongside his family, Owen’s courage, strength, and joyful spirit made the moment truly unforgettable.
